CardiGras International Men’s Day Festival
This International Men's day, CardiGras is hosting an International Men's Day Festival in Gatton. There will be market stalls including men's health information booths, music, and of course cars.
CardiGras would like to have your shed attend the event and possibly accept the offer for an information stall to promote your shed's unique offering, create awareness of the local men's sheds and represent the men's shed movement.

Head down to Jandowae Men’s Shed to see what they are all about and support a wonderful local Community Group who prioritise Men’s Health and Well Being and enjoy each other’s company.

Shedders Long Lunch
This Men’s Shed Week (4 – 10 September 2022) we’re celebrating the positive impact of Men’s Sheds within their communities, all over the world.
The Australian Men’s Shed Association's major partners Fair Dinkum Builds, the Australian Men’s Shed Association and Queensland Men’s Shed Association have come together to host a Shedder’s Long Lunch.
Join us with MC Justin Karcher and guest speaker Sam O’Connor MP for a day celebrating the Men’s Shed community. There’ll be fun and frivolity with lucky door prizes, a promise of a good feed, and a chinwag with old and new mates.
Tickets are $20 each or $150 for a group of 10.

Wide Bay Burnett Zone Cluster Meeting

Fuel allowance: QMSA will pay sheds 35c/km per car with a minimum 3 people in a car, for sheds further than 20 km from the venue. We will have some claim forms available on the day for you.

Cungulla Men’s Shed, Men's Health discussion
Cungulla Men’s Shed is hosting an informal discussion on aspects of men’s health. The leader of the discussion is a local resident, Trish Husband. Trish is a retired nurse with extensive experience in the field of men’s health especially in the area of prostate health. The session will begin with a shared morning tea at 9am and the discussion will commence at 9:30am. This event is open to ALL members of our Cungulla Community and is being promoted through facebook, the community blackboard and members of the Shed personally inviting their neighbours and friends.

Dr. Ian Plowman specialises in revitalising organisations through paying attention to their internal communication. He has worked with organisations for over thirty years’ as an organisational psychologist. His PhD examined the communication patterns within organisations that unconsciously block innovation. He presents both practical and insightful content that will help you master your shed management.
Ruth Logan - It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation
Ruth Logan is the Education Program Facilitator from It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation, Prostate Cancer Roadshow. She visits Men’s Sheds all over the state aiming to start vital conversations between men, their families, and their doctors.

Dr Ted Flack is an experienced Charity Manager, Part-time Army Officer, Scholar, Author, and storyteller. Ted will be talking about mastering governance in Men’s Sheds today.
Matt P - lived experience speaker from Back Dog Institute
Matt P is a community presenter for Black Dog Institute. Matt has been a structural engineer, a primary teacher, and a stay-at-home dad for his three small children. Matt grew up in Brisbane and loves hiking, camping, and fishing and manages depression and anxiety in his day-to-day life. Matt shares his personal journey with mental health to encourage other men not to struggle in silence, or alone!
Kym Hunter - Founder & Managing Director Champion Life
Kym Hunter is the Founder and Managing Director of Champion Life. Kym will be sharing how Champion Life is developing an online physical activity and wellbeing resource for Men’s Sheds in Queensland. This includes videos that deliver a variety of suitable follow-along physical activities ranging from 5 to 15 minutes. Each video is demonstrated by members of Men’s Sheds from across Queensland delivering peer-to-peer role modeling and increasing relatability, connection, and engagement.
